I started this blog for one reason. While covering a recent "Meeting of the Minds" between cops and clergy, I met two kids who read essays they wrote about gang violence and growing up in New Haven.
Thought you might want to hear what they had to say.
I'm the police and fire reporter for the New Haven Register. I like the job, usually. My wife usually doesn't. Nothing, I've learned, fosters marital bliss like a 10 p.m. call out for a homicide. I live in New Haven, work in New Haven and pay my car taxes late every year, which happily grants me a reprieve from covering the city's annual effort to track down and impound hundreds of cars from scofflaws.
So the URL for the blog is copboy.blogspot.com. Why copboy? First, Kaempffer is too hard to spell. So I chose copboy, which ironically is the username assigned to me by NYTimes.com
